Disney World is known as having top of the line rides, attractions and hotels… but it also offers world class dining. While there are many A-list restaurants in “the world,” some of the best food items are grab and go. Get ready to get hungry because here are five snacks you MUST try in Walt Disney World.

Mickey Premium Bar

Topping the list of best snacks in Disney is the Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar. This bar is a classic, and deservedly so. It definitely has a cult following and I think of it as the quintessential Disney snack. It’s relatively simple- vanilla ice cream in a hard chocolate shell shaped like Mickey- but it’s so good (tastes extra special eaten in the shadow of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle 😉 ). You can find the ice cream bar all over WDW, usually sold from a cart. No trip is complete for me without having one, it’s certainly a must on a hot day in the parks!

Nutella and Fresh Fruit Waffle

For brunch or a sharable (or not…) snack, I can never skip this nutella and fresh fruit waffle. It can be found at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in the Liberty Square area of Magic Kingdom and it’s absolutely amazing. This is the perfect snack because it has a bit of everything… the waffle is soft and buttery, the nutella is creamy and sweet and the fruit is fresh and makes you feel like you’re being *a little* healthy. Pro tip- Sleepy Hollow Refreshments offers tables and seating to the left of the castle, so if you grab your treat at the right time you can watch the fireworks from a great spot while you eat.

Carrot Cake Cookie

The Carrot Cake Cookie is a Disney snack I didn’t know about until a couple years ago. Originally it was only found in the (now closed) Writer’s Stop in Hollywood Studios which was tucked away and I always passed it. Now you can get this cookie at Sweet Spells, still in Hollywood Studios. This cookie is MASSIVE and perfect for sharing. It’s soft, chewy and the cream cheese frosting makes a perfect combo with the carrot flavored cookie. It’s just like a slice of delicious carrot cake, but easier to eat while walking!

LeFou’s Brew

LeFou’s Brew is a new item that came with the New Fantasyland expansion in Magic Kingdom park in 2012. The icy drink can be found in Gaston’s Tavern near the Beast’s Castle in Fantasyland. It’s alcohol-free and made of frozen apple juice, toasted marshmallow and a mango-passion fruit foam. I love this drink as a cold snack between meals when ice cream seems too heavy.

Drinks!

This isn’t exactly a snack, but tying into my previous post on Disney, I love the numerous cocktails, wines and beers offered throughout Walt Disney World. Dole Whip (another great snack sans alcohol) topped with rum is a favorite in Animal Kingdom, the avocado margarita from the Mexico pavilion in EPCOT is a fun treat and I never miss the Grand Marnier Slush in France. Hopping the monorail over to The Polynesian Resort after a long day at Magic Kingdom for a drink at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is another must-do. This photos is from one of my favorite spots to grab a drink and relax before dinner- the deck area at The Boathouse in Disney Springs.
