This past fall I had the opportunity to work with CheapCaribbean as a judge for their Noble Beach Prize awards. These awards honor the best resorts in the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America for having an amazing beach experience. I got to visit one of the winning resorts, Grand Fiesta Americana in Cancun. This resort won a spot on the Noble Beach Prize list for “Best Kid-tivities.” While I didn’t have any children with me, it was clear this resort is perfect for families with kids. They offer a kids programs and lots of activities to keep little ones entertained. From my perspective, as soon as I arrived at the property I could see why it won a spot on the Noble Beach Prize list! Here are five great reasons to stay at Grand Fiesta Americana in Cancun.

A+ Service

One of the first things that stood out to me about Grand Fiesta Americana was the amazing customer service. Every experience with a hotel staff member was A+, starting with check in where you’re offered a cold towel and a drink. At the beach I was never left wanting- ice cold bottles of water were constantly replenished and cocktails and snacks were brought quickly and with a smile. It was clear the staff members go above and beyond to ensure guests are happy at all times.

Beautiful Beach and Pool

Grand Fiesta Americana is situated on a gorgeous stretch of beach in Cancun. The sand was so soft and white, and the water was turquoise. The staff did a great job of making sure the beach was clean for guests to enjoy and I didn’t see any seaweed while I was there. The resort offers tons of lounge chairs and palapas for shade on the beach as well. If you want to switch things up and lounge by the pool, the resort has an insanely amazing one for you to enjoy! The pool is very long and winds its way through the resort. It has two swim-up pool bars and offers lots of different seating and lounging areas to relax in the water.

World Class Spa

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to enjoy a spa experience at Grand Fiesta Americana. The resort has a massive (40,000 square feet) spa that is beautiful and so serene. I did the spa’s signature ten-step hydrotherapy experience that involves a guided circuit through steam rooms, ice rooms and showers of various degrees. It was an amazing experience to have after a couple days in the hot Mexican sun.

Delicious Food and Drinks

Truly some of the best margaritas I’ve ever had were at Grand Fiesta Americana! I loved having lunch by the gorgeous pool everyday and not having to leave the sun. The shrimp tacos were delicious and the guacamole was out of this world!

Great Location

There’s really no reason to leave the resort, but if you want to explore a bit of Cancun the resort’s location is perfect. Grand Fiesta Americana is situated right off a bustling tourist area with clubs, shops and restaurants. It’s set back enough so you don’t hear any noise, but just a short walk to all the action!
