Savannah, Georgia is a magical place. Beautiful colonial homes are arranged around charming neighborhood squares, Spanish moss hangs delicately off stately oaks and the idea of “southern hospitality” is alive and well. I just spent a weekend touring Savannah, and it’s definitely become one of my favorite towns in the country! Something I loved is how compact and walkable it is. While I only spent two nights in Savannah, it was enough time to see everything; I walked everywhere and really felt like I got a great feel for it. One of the most important things when visiting a new town, especially if you’re pressed for time, is staying at an ideally located hotel. In Savannah I stayed at The Brice, a Kimpton hotel that was fabulous.
The Brice is centrally located in Savannah. It’s in the historic district and right by the Savannah River, making it an easy walk to many famous sights- Forsyth Park, The Olde Pink House, Savannah River Street. Being situated in the historic district means The Brice is surrounded by beautiful homes and quaint neighborhood squares. One of my favorite things to do was grab a coffee in the morning (The Brice offers complimentary coffee and tea) and wander around the cobblestone streets admiring the homes and sitting in the squares. The squares in Savannah have an interesting history. In the 1700’s when the city was being developed, it was decided to lay the town out in a grid pattern with squares- open areas for public use. This was thought to make it easier to navigate. The squares were originally used to practice military drills and today are gathering places.
In addition to having a great location, The Brice is a also a nice respite after a day touring Savannah. I mentioned the complimentary coffee and tea served in the morning, and in the evenings the hotel offers a gratis happy hour in the lobby. The hotel has other fabulous amenities too- bikes, yoga mats, hundreds of books to borrow, a beautiful pool, outdoor space and it’s even pet friendly!
The Brice is home to Pacci, an Italian restaurant and bar, that serves breakfast, dinner and weekend brunch. I had a delicious dinner there of pasta, fresh fish and cocktails. I love hotels that have great restaurants and Pacci did not disappoint. And how cute is this bar area?!
My room at The Brice was very big and spacious. It had a very comfortable king bed, a large bathroom and plenty of spaces to sit and relax. I’ve stayed in other Kimptons and always love their style and interior design. The Brice has beautiful and whimsical art throughout and features brightly colored furniture and design elements. I loved the contrast- outside of The Brice is historic Savannah filled with classic, antebellum beauty, but inside the hotel is filled with brightly colored, modern pieces. I also have to note how comfortable the bed was!
The Brice is my number one pick for a hotel to stay in while visiting Savannah. It’s a gorgeous yet relaxed place that offers a huge variety of amenities. In addition to the delicious Pacci restaurant, beautiful decor, and well appointed rooms, the staff was top notch. Everyone went above and beyond to help accommodate me and no request was too large or small. I will definitely be back at The Brice when I’m next in Savannah and I’m going to seek out other Kimpton hotels on my future travels. I just love their style, ambiance and amenities!
I received a complimentary stay in exchange for an honest review of The Brice. All opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting brands that make My Darling Passport possible!
Wow! Your photos make me want to go check in to the hotel, too. What photo editor do you use?
Thank you! It’s a great hotel! I use Lightroom.
